Grapefruit and Lemonade Batch Cocktail Recipes

Spring is around the corner and that means the weather will start getting warmer and the drinks we reach for will be more of a refreshing variety.  Parties become more frequent since you will want to enjoy those longer hours of daylight with your friends and family.  And where there are more people, you need more drinks! A huge thank you to Imbiber Magazine for the recipes…they are so delicious we needed to share them with you!

Here are two recipes for cocktails that you can make in abundance to satisfy your guests and be able to enjoy your party and not spend the whole time in the kitchen mixing drinks!

**This first recipe we found serves 4, but you can double, triple, etc. depending on the size of your party.  But whether you’re serving 4 or 16, you will LOVE this cocktail!



1 cup tequila (blanco or reposado)
1 cup fresh grapefruit juice
1/3 cup fresh lime juice
1/2 cup Cointreau
1-2 tsp. agave (optional)
Tools: pitcher, wooden spoon
Glass: 4 salt-rimmed Margarita glasses
Garnish: fresh grapefruit wheels


Batch Cocktail Tips

Rim 4 Margarita glasses with kosher salt. In a pitcher, combine all ingredients (adding agave to taste) with ice cubes and stir to combine. Pour into ice-filled, salt-rimmed glasses and garnish.

**If you want something that you can make ahead of time and store up to a week before your party, here is Summer Thyme Lemonade.  For those guests who love whiskey, this is sure to be light and refreshing at your outdoor party. The recipe is sized for 1 serving but simply multiply by the number of guests you have and you have made one tasty batch cocktail! Cheers!



1 1/2 oz. Irish whiskey
3 oz. ginger-thyme lemonade (see below)
3 dashes Angostura bitters
Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: Collins
Garnish: lemon wheel and fresh thyme sprig


Combine all ingredients and shake with ice. Strain into an ice-filled glass and garnish.

Ginger-Thyme Lemonade
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 1/2 oz. fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
1/2 oz. fresh thyme leaves
2 cups fresh lemon juice

6 Yummy Party Punch Recipes

In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, ginger and thyme over medium-high heat. Stir until sugar dissolves and remove from heat. Once cool, strain into a clean glass pitcher and add lemon juice. Stir to combine, and keep refrigerated for up to 1 week.
