Candy Cocktails – Easter Inspired Drinks Using PEEPS!

Easter is not just for the little ones anymore….adults can now enjoy the holiday just as much with a little help from those colorful candy marshmallow treats of sheer happiness…PEEPS! We know them, we LOVE them, they are sugary sweet and gone in a flash! Now you can use them to garnish delicious cocktails, making them a great garnish to theme your Easter cocktail party!  Have fun trying these! They are just as much fun to make as they are to eat! Cheers!

A Peeps Peach Pool cocktail is one of those drinks that just makes you feel happy even before you’ve taken the first sip. The taste of peaches in the Pinnacle vodka is so delightful that you’ll instantly be transported somewhere warm and sunny. Whether you’re sitting on the front porch or taking a dip in the pool, this is the ultimate spring weather drink.

1.5 ounces Pinnacle Peach Vodka
2.5 ounces Tres Agaves Margarita mix
½ ounce Hiram Walker blue curacao
¼ ounce mint simple syrup
Blue Peeps Marshmallow garnish

Fill a martini shaker with ice. Add the vodka, Margarita mix, blue curacao and mint simple syrup to the ice, then shake for several seconds to mix. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a blue Peeps.

1 1/2 ounces Cherry Vodka
1/2 ounce Triple Sec
3 ounces Half and Half or Milk
Dash Grenadine

Rim a martini glass with thick simple syrup and then dip into dyed green coconut flakes, then adorn with a little marshmallow peep. Think of it as your very own adult Easter Basket, but instead of being filled with candy, it’s filled with booze! Prepare the glasses ahead of time and put them on a tray decorated with jelly beans and other seasonal delights for a stunning effect.

Shake with ice until chilled. Pour into decorated glasses and serve.

The recipe, which was put together by Nicole of Baking Bites, is a pretty simple process. Simply put, you need to put roughly 30 of the peep marshmallow candies into a jar, fill the cracks with vodka and just let it sit in the refrigerator for a few days so the flavors infuse into the vodka. I personally liked that Nicole suggests not using the cheap stuff to make the candy vodka, but to not waste an expensive bottle of vodka on the project either. According to the blog, the sweetness from the Peeps is subtle, and the candy vodka works great in many different types of cocktails, just in time for some Easter drinks.
